Ecosystems and Food Webs

We are finishing up our last 4th grade standard this week with our week 21 newsletter. It consists of Ecosystems and Food Webs.

Friday/Monday:

We highlighted important key facts from our week 21 newsletter. We reviewed our vocabulary words for the week.

Tuesday –

We reviewed our vocabulary and completed our Food Webs PowerPoint and booklet by the Science Penguin. This booklet is our daily work grade for the week.I purchased these from her TPT store located here.

We also watched two fantastic videos by Mr. Parr on food chains and decomposers. These are great tunes to help the kids understand — and I love showing these during times of gluing in our notebooks.

Wednesday –

Today we are testing on our Week 21 newsletter. I’ve got a newsletter on the body’s systems out for the kiddos to read after testing.

Tomorrow we will begin doing recipe for our Aspire Science Test on April 27.

Ch 4 Lesson 2 Organisms Interact 10/29/13

Today we learned about how organisms interact within ecosystems. Competition, sharing resources, organisms helping each other, and causing harm (parasites) are ways they interact. This is located on page 48 in our Science Notebook.

Kinds of Ecosystems 10/14/13

Today was the start of Ch. 3 in Science. We defined our first 5 vocabulary words for our chapter, and then we discussed the 5 different kinds of ecosystems. Featured is a student showing her notebook page that we started to help us remember the 5 kinds of ecosystems and the animals we would expect to find there.
